Helen Dorothy Mikulin5/3/1921 - 5/15/2005 Born May 3, 1921 in Bryan, TX, Mrs. Mikulin passed away in Carmichael, CA on May 15, 2005. Helen loved to garden and entertain her friends. She and Tom enjoyed frequent trips to Reno and garage sales where she sought the unusual items with a passion. In their younger years, they both loved to go camping and spend time in the outdoors. Mrs. Mikulin was married to Tommy Fred Mikulin in Burlson, TX on January 2, 1941. Helen has been a resident of Placer County since September of 1986, where she moved to from Campbell, CA. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 19, 2005 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at S.S. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 4450 Granite Drive in Rocklin, with a recitation of the Holy Rosary there that evening at 6 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, May 20, 2005 at 10 a.m. at S.S. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Newcastle District Cemetery, 850 Taylor Road in Newcastle.Shields Beach Logsdon9/6/1918-5/5/2005 Shields Beach Logsdon, 86, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2005, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born September 6, 1918, in Collinsville, Illinois. He worked his way through high school and college, attending Illinois State University, Stanford University, and the University of California, Berkeley, earning his teaching credentials, speech therapy credentials, and a Master's Degree in Drama. He taught Speech and Drama at Piedmont High School and went on to become a Speech Therapist and Drama Teacher for the Tahoe Truckee School District. He was a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy and served aboard the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Kadashan Bay during WWII. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Roseville, and a member of The Mariners, and enjoyed singing in several choirs over the years. He is survived by Mary Edyth Logsdon, his devoted wife of 58 years; his five children, Shields Carroll, Mark, Janis, Linda, and Rand; his daughter-in-law, Janet; his son-in-law, Daryl; his sister, Bette; and five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was a very kind, thoughtful, loving person, and a true gentleman. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and students. Private services were held at Auburn Cemetery.Cyril D. Coffey3/30/1914 - 5/10/2005 Born March 30, 1914 in Sacramento, CA, Mr. Coffey passed away in Paradise, CA on May 10, 2005 at the age of 91. Cyril was a resident of Roseville are since 1946, and retired from Southern Pacific Railroad after 38 years of service. He was active with the Masons for more than 35 years. Married to beloved wife, Inzea, for almost 72 years, Cyril also leaves behind to honor his memory, sons: Robert Coffey of TN; Kenneth Coffey of OK; and Richard Coffey of CA; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and other family and friends. As Cyril wished, a cremation is to take place, followed by inurnment at Roseville District Cemetery. Arrangements by Lambert Funeral Home, Roseville.Mary Ann Stamas9/23/1922 - 5/16/2005 Mary Ann Stamas, born September 23, 1922 in Roseville, CA, died on May 16, 2005 in her home. Mary was a 1940 graduate of Roseville High School. She is survived by her daughter Pamela and her husband Ray Hilliker, two grandsons, Father Michael Stearns and wife Presbyter Brenda, and Christopher Stearns and wife Candius, five great-grand children Jenna, Anna, Michael, Steven, and Samuel Stearns. In addition, Mary is survived by five brothers and sisters; Peter Stamas, Ellen Moustris-Newman, Gus Stamas, Katherine Cameron, and Paul Stamas; many nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed. Mary was preceded in death by both parents Sam and Anna Stamas and one brother George Stamas. Mary was a veteran, serving during WWII, as a WAVE during 1943-1945. She retired from the Roseville City School District in April, 1996. Her hobbies included knitting, crocheting, and reading. Mary was a founding member of Saint Anna's Greek Orthodox Church in Roseville, CA. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 19, 2005, at Lambert's Funeral Home in Roseville, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., with Trisagion services to follow at 7 p.m. Funeral Services are scheduled for Friday, May 20, 2005, at 10 a.m. at the Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation on Alhambra Street in Sacramento; burial will be at the Roseville District Cemetery.
