U.S. Bank in Roseville robbed for second time

For the second time in less than four months, a Roseville branch of U.S. Bank was robbed.According to police reports, a man entered the bank, located at 221 Estates Drive, at 11:40 a.m. Monday, brandished a handgun and ordered everyone in the establishment to the ground."There were approximately 15 employees and customers in the bank at the time of the robbery," Dee Dee Gunther, Roseville Police spokesperson, said in a statement.Witnesses told police the man demanded money from the tellers' station, and left after taking an undisclosed amount of money.The man was described as between 5-feet, 10-inches and 6-feet tall and weighing between 180 to 200 pounds. Witnesses said he wore a black, hooded sweatshirt with the hood up and dark pants.Police said the suspect is believed to have left the area in a black sedan driven by a woman in dark clothing. No other description of the female was immediately available.The incident is the latest in a string of armed robberies of financial institutions in Roseville since the beginning of the year.The same branch of the U.S. Bank was robbed Jan. 9. Later that week, Carl Pinkston, 51, of Sacramento turned himself in to authorities in Sacramento in connection with the crime. He remains free on bail.The Union Bank of California on Douglas Boulevard was robbed Jan. 21, and officials arrested Bruce Allen Wright, 35, of Sacramento for the crime. He remains in custody in the Placer County Jail on $275,000 bail.The Safe Credit Union on Sunrise Avenue was robbed Feb. 27, and David Paul Trewartha, 39, of Auburn was arrested and charged. He is still in custody at the Placer County Jail on $250,000 bail.On March 2, two armed men entered and robbed the Bank of America on Galleria Boulevard.
