Bayside to host America's largest worship service

Tomorrow at 10 a.m. Bayside Family of Churches will close their doors and move to ARCO arena for one massive service and the entire community is invited to join in the celebration! "We do this once every two years, and the energy and excitement of that service in the arena is unbelievable," said Ray Johnston, Sr. Pastor of Bayside of Granite Bay. "Bayside is known as being a high-energy, contemporary church anyway, but when you pack that all into ARCO Arena, it just multiplies into something amazing that you simply have to experience!" Johnston said the service, which 15,000 people or more are expected to attend, is a time to celebrate the lives that have been changed and the service projects that have been accomplished throughout the community and around the world. "Since our first ARCO service two years ago, the Bayside Family of Churches has expanded to nine churches stretching from Plumas Lakes to South Sacramento, and Woodland to Placerville," Johnston said. "Bayside started in 1995 as a church for people who usually don't like church, and it's a place where people have been able to plug in, grow deeper in their faith, and find ways to start serving others Worship at Bayside's ARCO Arena service will be led by Lincoln Brewster, who is worship pastor at Bayside of Granite Bay and an internationally-acclaimed Christian recording artist.Another key purpose of the Arco service will be an offering to benefit children at inner-city schools. "We know that school facilities throughout our region are not equal," said Jim Holst, Outreach Pastor at Bayside of Granite Bay. "It's not fair that any 5-year-old child should walk onto an inferior elementary school campus because of the neighborhood they happen to live in. We want to change that by taking a huge offering to help those schools so all children have the best possible chance to succeed and thrive." There is no charge to attend the service, though ARCO Arena does charge a parking fee.
