George Jack Susoeff

George Jack Susoeff passed away peacefully, with his loved ones by his side, on the morning of Wednesday, January 18, 2006, at the age of 87 years.He was predeceased by his parents, Jack and Vasunya Susoeff, brothers Nick and John, and sisters Mary and Hazel. George was a proud and courageous, funny and loving son, brother, husband, father, uncle, grandfather and friend.Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 55 years Peggy Deini Susoeff, daughters Susan Togioka and Patricia Susoeff and son George Susoeff. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren.George's parents emigrated from Russia and settled in San Francisco, California where he was born, in 1918. At the age of 16, he relocated to Sheridan, California with his family. When World War II started, he was drafted into the United States Army and proudly served his country, first in the Aleutian Islands, and later in Europe, finishing his military service in France and Germany.George worked a ranch outside of Sheridan from the time of his discharge from the Army until July 2003.George was an active member of his community when his children were growing up, he was the 4-H Beef Leader for the Central 4-H group and President of the PTA in Sheridan. He was also a member of the VFW Post 3010 in Lincoln and a Board member of the Placer County Cemetery District in Lincoln. The family would like to thank Dr. Scarmon and the staff at Lincoln Manor for the years of care and kindness given to George, as well as his family.The family would also like to express their deepest gratitude to Jack and Michelle Noyes for their friendship, love and kindness to the entire Susoeff family.Messages of condolences from Lincoln and Wheatland friends have been greatly appreciated.His family will greatly miss his songs, his care of all living things, his kind nature, and wonderful sense of humor, all of which were with him at the end.With respect to George's wishes, cremation has taken place and his remains will reside with his widow, Peggy, until the time of their joint internment in the Sheridan Molokan Church Cemetery.The family requests that any donations please be made in George's memory to the charity of your choice.
