Stop finger-pointing, think of plant's impact

Thanks to the Journal's front page story on the proposal to put an asphalt plant in Meadow Vista, Journal, Feb. 2. Also, thanks to the citizens who are questioning the underhanded politics of Bruce Kranz and the economical and environmental issues at hand. It is clear there are many negative aspects to the location.Location - let's see, the plant would be located right on the Bear River in a community which largely gets its drinking water from wells. Asphalt contains toxic chemicals, and even if (and that's a big if) there is no production of asphalt at the proposed plant, no one can convince me that there won't be spills. If Kranz's short-sighted plan goes through and the plant is located in Meadow Vista, will we see a rise in childhood leukemia or another type of cancer cluster?Stop the immature finger pointing at the citizens of Meadow Vista, and scrutinize the environmental impact of this project.
