Curtis L. Greer

A longtime resident of Newcastle, CA, Curtis L. Greer, age 74, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2005. Curtis was born in Eastland, TX, and was one of five children born to Melvin and Myrtle Greer. He spent most of his childhood in Phoenix, AZ, prior to joining the Air Force and being stationed in Minneapolis, MN. It was here that he met his wife, Alverna Greer, of 51 years. Curt was an avid race car fan, and had the opportunity to race cars in the early 1960s, prior to a race car accident that left 80% of his body being burned. He went on to become a successful business owner of various businesses in the South Placer County area. Curt is survived by his brother, Milton Greer, and sister, Mildred Bell. He leaves his beloved 5 children, Vicki, Steve, Denise, Wayne and Kurt. He will be missed by his 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Curt touched the life of many people. He was known for his love of life and sense of humor. If you had a chance to know Curt and become part of his life, you will always have a wonderful story to tell and fond memories. A memorial service will be held at 2 PM on Monday April 11, 2005, at the Parkside Church of the Nazarene, 3885 Richardson Drive, Auburn, CA.
