Standard Pacific Homes moves office to Roseville

Standard Pacific Homes, one of the nation's largest home builders, is relocating its Sacramento regional office from its former location in El Dorado Hills to Roseville. "One of the reasons we moved our office to Roseville is because 75 percent of our employees live in the Roseville area," said Jon Nicholson, who was recently promoted to division president of the company's Sacramento operations.Nicholson said the Sacramento division encompasses housing developments in Sacramento, Placer, Yolo and El Dorado counties. Currently Standard Pacific has built or is in the process of building 300 units in the Sacramento market area. Nicholson said the goal is to build 500 units, which would make the company one of the top 10 builders in the marketplace."There's enough opportunity in the Sacramento marketplace to meet our needs," Nicholson said. "The competition is so good here with so many local builders, everyone is after a good deal."One of Standard Pacific's current projects is a development of 137 homes called Woodbury Glen, located on the edge of Lincoln. Considered to be "move-up" homes, the community consists of four different models ranging from 2,366 to 3,566 square feet.Sales have been brisk and Nicholson reports that when the homes were first released, 10 out of 11 residences were sold the first weekend, without any models available for viewing."Lincoln is a place where people want to be," Nicholson said. "Families are out driving the neighborhoods to see what's out here."Nicholson feels one of the reasons Woodbury Glen, along with other Standard Pacific homes, has sold quickly is the quality and the focus on design that the company provides, which he said is evident in each home."We've been around for 40 years," he said. "Customer satisfaction is extremely important. Our goal is to have a customer for life. We don't just look to close the sale. Hopefully they'll come back for their next house. We don't just build it and move on."Scott Tiernan, director of public relations for Standard Pacific, said the company believes in extending the production time of each home in order to deliver a quality home to each prospective buyer."This company is a worthy competitor in the building industry," Tiernan said.
